About Me

Kristen Kirkland, RDH, B.S.

I’m currently a Colorado Licensed Dental Hygienist and I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northern Arizona University in 2005 with a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene and a minor in Biology, and have been in clinical practice since. I have worked in small offices with individual dentists, as well as a large group practice with dental specialists including periodontists, endodontists, oral surgeons, and orthodontists. Along the way, I’ve learned about all aspects of dentistry. As a consultant and trainer for new hygienists, I’ve also found a passion for educating.

There is a lot of information out there, often incomplete or inaccurate, and I’ve realized that many people don’t know that much about their mouth, simply because nobody ever explained it. I want patients to understand what is going on in their mouths so they can make educated decisions about their dental care. I have found that people are immensely appreciative when I take the time to thoroughly explain oral conditions and treatment options because often patients are just told what they “should” do. My goal is to help educate anyone out there looking for dental advice.
